In the spring of 2010, IRIR celebrated 10 years of existence. The event was marked on July 7 by a getting together of former and present fellows, of the friends of our Institute. The venue was a special, “historical”one: Casa Tătărăscu, the former mansion of the liberal politician Gheorghe Tătărăscu (now housing the Heritage restaurant).
We talked about the achievements of the past and our plans for the future. Coen Stork, IRIR’s founder, enjoyed the opportunity to meet old friends: Mircea Dinescu, Andrei Pleșu, Anca Oroveanu, Dan Perjovschi, Gabriel Andreescu, Andrei Oișteanu, Radu Filipescu, Sandra Pralong, Aurora Liiceanu, Sorin Antohi, Zoltan Rostaș, Marius Oprea. The Dutch Embassy was represented by Mr. Hans Sundee, Deputy Head of Mission.
Among the guests were also: Mrs Cristina Anisescu from CNSAS, Mr. Alexandru Florian, Executive Director of the National Institute for the Research of the Holocaust in Romania , Mr. Holger Dix, Director of the Bucharest branch of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Mr. Dorin Dobrincu, Director of the National Archives, Mr. Dorin Matei, editor in chief of Magazin Istoric, Mr. Laurențiu Ștefan from the US Embassy.
On behalf of IRIR spoke Coen Stork, Alexandru Barnea, Liviu Tofan and Andrei Muraru. Other speakers were: Andrei Pleșu, Dinu Zamfirescu, Marius Oprea, Radu Boroianu, Sorin Antohi, Radu Filipescu.
